Beach surprise (times 2)

I went to the beach for a weekend with some girlfriends. Before I left, my friend Sabine said that she felt left out because we had planned the weekend a few months ago and she hadn't heard about it. I invited her to come, but she and her husband had plans to celebrate their 21st anniversary at the beach that same weekend.

We went to the beach and as soon as we finished setting up the umbrellas in the sand, to our SURPRISE, who did we see walking towards us? Sabine and her husband! They were staying at a hotel about a mile from where we were staying and they just “happened” to walk past where we were. (Like anything just “happens” with God!)

We decided that we would have a worship service on the beach on Sunday morning at 9:00. Later, I went for a walk on the beach, looking for my favorite sea shell (a Conch shell) and I was thinking, “I just don’t think you can find big ones. I just don’t think they’ll just wash up on shore.”

The next morning, we met our friends for worship service and right after they walked up, a big wave came in about 15 feet behind me, Sabine’s husband ran over to where it had just been. I turned around to see what he was doing and there sat a BIG conch shell. He handed it to Sabine and she handed it to me. I didn’t want to take it. I told her that she should keep it because her husband gave it to her on their anniversary trip. She said, “No, we’ve been looking for one for you since it’s your favorite.”

They had walked on the beach looking for one, and God washed one up on shore right where we were standing. I felt totally blessed, encouraged, loved, and, of course, kissed by God!

{Here's a picture of it next to a coffee cup so you can see the size of it!}
